Toomy Leathers

Toomy Leathers was conceived in 2016 by Joe Brooks and at that time it went by the name of Cowboy Leathers. Starting in a plain backyard shed, with practically no tools, the business grew a fan base out of the motorcycle community, making custom seats and saddlebags.

In 2019, a drastic expansion of the company grew with Joe Brook’s best friend, Thomas Toomey joining the company. Serving many years in the U.S. Marines, Tommy had a tough outer shell, but a heart of gold. He owned an animal rescue sanctuary in Florida and played a major role in the Wounded Warrior Project. Together they rented out a small barn and began custom leather forging a wider variety of products and accessories. From motorcycle accessories to belts, holsters, gun bags and slings, there wasn’t a project they wouldn’t undertake. Customization to their client’s specific needs was their specialty.

Three years later, tragedy struck as Joe’s business partner and best friend, were lost to a motorcycle accident. A motorcycle covered in the company’s custom leatherworks, and to this day stands as a symbol of their life and how fragile life can be.

From 2020 through 2022, the company went on hiatus as the Covid-19 pandemic shut down the world economy. Throughout this time period, Joe Brooks reflected on the company’s future and what it represented to him. Come 2023, Joe decided to change the name of the company to Toomy Leathers, striving to keep the memory of Tommy alive for years to come. Through leather works and stories, Toomy Leathers donates a portion of each product sold to Tommy’s loving wife and the five children who hold Tommy close to their hearts.
