Evanix Rex-Ibex Sniper PCP Air Rifle with Carbon Fiber Bottle/Stock .357 Caliber (9mm) - Single Shot
We recommend slug weight of 127 gr or less to accommodate for the magazine size.
The Rex Ibex line of air rifles has a similar took to the Sig Saur MCX Spear.
The Rex Ibex has a full length picatinny rail on the top and bottom of the front hand guard giving the shooter endless possibilities of mounting optic and accessories. The left and right sides include M-Lok slots for additional accessories.
This Air Rifle is a single shot, high power, precision shooter with convenient under-lever cocking lever with a high power and medium power stopping position. Medium power is achieved by fully cocking, loading, then decocking to the Medium power position. Medium power will give you more shots at a lower velocity when your target doesn't require the full power capability of this air rifle.
Foot pounds of energy (FPE) is the name of the game when Hunting and the Rex Ibex has plenty to choose from.
- 200 - 230 FPE in .357 Caliber
- 300 - 425 FPE in .457 Caliber.
- 340 - 460 FPE in .500 Caliber.
Velocity is how fast your shot gets to the target in Feet per Second (FPS) and the Rex Ibex is designed to shoot in the sweet spot for accuracy.
- 735 - 977 FPS in .357 Caliber.
- 774 - 1000 FPS in .457 Caliber.
- 780 - 920 FPS in .500 Caliber.
Velocity and FPE are dependent on the Grain weight of your ammo. The Rex Ibex has and unchoked barrel for shooting slugs. Light slugs go fast and heavy slugs go slower, Heavy slugs hit hard and Light slugs hit less-hard. Your ideal selection is based on your needs and condition your shooting in. This will be learned thru shooting practice and trying a variety of ammo and ammo manufactures. Personally I like to shoot round-ball, it has the fastest FPS and flattest trajectory. Your ammo choice might be regulated by local and state laws.
This is an Unregulated airgun, meaning all the power that is possible is being used behind each shot. The valve design does allow for a good number of shots to hit the same bullseye without significant drop shot-to-shot. but this is a hunting rifle, One Shot - One Kill then you are cleaning your harvest for the rest of the day. Good Powerful shots are available when your air-tank has between 1200 and 3600 psi.
Regulated airguns steal some of the top power to keep consistent power across a shot string. you might have 3600 psi available but the airgun is regulated to 2800 psi. you get less power in your shots but consistent shots at 2800 before the pressure drops below the regulator pressure. This is great for precision target shooting but not always what a hunter needs.
